Acupuncture is derived from traditional Chinese medicine, this is a form of treatment for pain that involves insertion of fine needles into particular points in the body known as "acupuncture points". The purpose is to help bring the body back into balance so it can heal itself. This healing modality has been in use for millions of people for over 3000 years.

What can acupuncture treat?
In an official released report “Acupuncture review and analysis of reports on controlled clinical trials”of The World Health Organization (WHO) listed the following symptoms, diseases and conditions have been proven through controlled trials to be an effective treatment by acupuncture:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Knee pain
  • Periarthritis of the shoulder
  • Sprain
  • Facial pain (including craniomandibular disorders)
  • Headache
  • Dental pain
  • Tempromandibular (TMJ) dysfunction
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Postoperative pain
  • Stroke
  • Adverse reactions to radiation or chemotherapy

IntraMuscular Stimulation (IMS) - IMS is a technique to decrease pain, treat and heal injued muscles, tight muscles, irritated nerves and other painful conditions. A physical examination of the painful area by a chiropractor or medical doctor to determine a diagnosis is necessary, looking for specific physical findings. After that a small acupuncture needle is placed in tight musles or pathways of irritated nerves to stimulate a healing response, decrease nerve sensitivity and realign muscle fibers while breaking up scar tissue. This techniques works very fast to help pain and sore muscles. It is commonly used with traditional acupuncture for effective pain care.
